The Culatra Island to the Lighthouse Trail is an excellent program to enjoy a day at the beach in the Algarve and Olhão. For those who like to walk on the beach, visiting the island of Culatra and taking a trail is mandatory in the Algarve.

HOW TO GET TO THE CULATRA ISLAND AND THE LIGHTHOUSE

To reach the island of Culatra and the Lighthouse, it is necessary to cross by boat from Olhão to the island of Culatra. The trip costs € 1.85 / per person, to the island of Culatra, and € 2.15 back from the Lighthouse from Olhão. Summer times for Culatra Island are available in the image below. The walking route between Ilha da Culatra and Farol can be done between Culatra and Farol or the other way around. Just pay attention that it is worth buying a boat ticket to one of the places and returning to another. Culatra Island and Lighthouse are all on the same island, Culatra Island (although in Faro they call it “Lighthouse Island”). In reality, the term “Island” in the Lighthouse is most likely due to the old use of the word at a time when there could be a channel between the Culatra and the Lighthouse. SPRING BY THE TRAIL OF THE CULATRA ON THE LIGHT

Once on the island of Culatra, the boat reaches the traditional village and fishermen. After exploring the village, you have to travel about 1.5 km by trail through the village to the beach. After reaching the beach on the island of Culatra, you must always follow the sea to the Lighthouse. This part is about 2.5 km on the island of Culatra. The route crosses the dune cord of the island of Culatra and allows you to beach in the sea or in the estuary, the part of the sea is much higher there. The Culatra Island trail is truly wonderful for beach lovers.
